The right procedure for every metal
The treatment (pickling, passivating) of various types of metals (alloys) is our core business. Each metal requires its own, specific and specialized metal surface treatment. Thanks to our almost 70 years of experience with metals, Vecom knows exactly what is needed to ensure that the machined, affected or contaminated metal will be in optimum condition again.
In addition, Vecom can help you to quickly determine which alloys you are dealing with with our metal analyzer. The alloy partly determines the choice of the correct cleaning method. You can read more about the metal analyzer in our Technical Bulletin.
Ferrous and non-ferrous metal
Metals can be subdivided into ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals. Iron products and alloys with iron are called ferrous metals. Non-ferrous metals are all other metals in their pure form, binary, tertiary and more complex metal alloys without iron.
Ferrous metals: steel, cast iron, stainless steel
Non-ferrous metals: aluminium, copper, lead, zinc, bronze, brass
Further highlighted
Below we highlight a number of metal types. We explain what it is and what metal surface treatments are applicable for each metal type.
