Copper oxides can be removed by adjusting the cleaning method for decoppering (only during post-commissioning cleaning). If, besides flash rust, older rust is also present (Fe2O3), hydrofluoric acid or another additive is added to prevent corrosion by iron III (Fe3+). The passivation is carried out with ammonium citrate and an oxidizer.<\/p>\n<p>During cleaning, a large amount of waste water is generated because of the the intermediate rinsing phases, which can be processed using the DND principle (Detoxification, Neutralization, Dewatering).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-90-2\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-90-2-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-90-2-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"2\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h3>Advantages<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Removes iron oxides (rust) as well as welding skin, mill scale and annealing skin;<\/li>\n<li>Lower operating temperature (40-50\u00b0C);<\/li>\n<li>Very suitable for heavily rusted material;<\/li>\n<li>Can dissolve copper oxides if present (by means of an adjusted cleaning procedure);<\/li>\n<li>In some cases, the only suitable method.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-90-2-1\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-90-2-1-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"3\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h3>Disadvantages<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Large amounts of waste water;<\/li>\n<li>Use of corrosive chemicals during the pickling step;<\/li>\n<li>Cannot be used if stainless steel material is present;<\/li>\n<li>Cannot be used on higher alloyed steels that include chromium or P91\/P92;<\/li>\n<li>Longer cleaning time;<\/li>\n<li>Less friendly to people and the environment;<\/li>\n<li>With incorrect use, there is a risk of corrosion of the base material.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Suitable for: Carbon steel and copper Removes: Iron oxides (rust), welding skin, mill scale and annealing skin.
